Project news: VA-RCM: The consortium behind the VA-RCM project visit Faiveley Transport in Reus (near Barcelona) to perform tests with the system

The consortium behind VA-RCM, an innovative product for train door condition monitoring visit Faiveley Transport in Reus (near Barcelona) to perform vibration profiling for common train door faults with the VA-RCM system.

InnoTecUK, responsible for installing the VA-RCM system, also supported the consortium in injecting pre-determined faults into the train resulting in an observable change in the vibration profile.

Initial testing results appear to be extremely promising and it is hoped that after processing the raw data through the VA-RCM algorithm, individual faults can be remotely identified – a crucial step for the successful commercialisation of this project.

The partners behind this innovative project include: Hitex, Transport Systems Catapult, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), TWI (TWI Integrity Management) and  InnoTecUK
